What: On May 21, 1862, Surgeon General William Hammond ordered the collection of "specimens of morbid anatomy together with projectiles and foreign bodies removed." These objects provide an incomparable resource for the study of Civil War Medicine. This free, docent-led introductory tour highlights the NMHM's remarkable exhibit on the sesquicentennial of the Civil War.
