Historian Allison S. Finkelstein will share the postwar legacy of World War I reconstruction aides, civilian women who treated injured soldiers and formed the origins of the Army's Medical Specialist Corps. After pioneering rehabilitation practices during WWI, these women worked to professionalize their field as they commemorated the war through their continued support of the men and women who served in it.
